Nitrous Oxide Sedation at Westlake Dental Care
Nitrous oxide, commonly known as "laughing gas," is a sweet-smelling, non-irritating, colorless gas used in dentistry to help patients feel calm and at ease. It has been a trusted method of sedation for decades, known for both its safety and effectiveness. During administration, patients receive a carefully controlled mixture of 30%–50% nitrous oxide with 50%–70% oxygen.
Safe and Gentle Sedation
Nitrous oxide allows patients to remain awake, responsive, and in full control of their bodily functions. Some may experience a sense of calm or mild amnesia and may even drift into light sleep during treatment, often with little memory of the procedure afterward.
